Nine stories above Central Avenue and Van Buren Street in Phoenix, the garden is the highest in the Valley. With a 180-degree panoramic view that goes from Four Peaks in the east to the sprawling West Valley, the garden provides a restorative break from work, or a festive gathering place for special occasions.
The rectangular garden and covered patio lie on top of the historic Security Building, built in 1928 by wealthy rancher Dwight B. Heard. The garden was added in 1958, when Valley Bank's then-chairman built a penthouse home and rooftop garden for his family on the ninth floor.
